C-波段雙偏極化都卜勒氣象雷達2

世界上極少數擁有氣象雷達設備的系所之一。雷達室備有齊全的電腦設備以處理及儲存雷達觀測資料。同時透過數據專線與中央氣象局直接連線。

移動式雙偏極化氣象雷達車

國內第一部以實驗為主的移動式X波段雙偏極化都卜勒雷達，命名為Taiwan Experimental Atmospheric Mobile Radar (TEAM-R)。X波段(電磁波波長約3 cm)雙偏極化都卜勒雷達，可以測得天氣系統內部的風場結構，而雙偏極化功能則可大幅度提升降雨估計的精確度。移動式載具可將雷達架設在地形複雜的區域，如水庫上游的集水區，進行觀測。2008年建置迄今，多次參與國內的氣象觀測任務。

Taiwan Experimental Atmospheric Mobile-Radar. （TEAM-R）

The complex terrain, especially the Central Mountain Range (CMR), with a maximum peak reaching about 4,000 m, poses serious difficulties to the observations by ground-based radars. In September, 2006, a proposal was approved to construct Taiwan’s first mobile meteorological radar, named TEAM-R (Taiwan Experimental Atmospheric Mobile-Radar).TEAM-R is a X-band dual-polarimetric radar. It is capable of measuring the winds inside a precipitating system, and providing rainfall estimate with a much higher accuracy if compared with the traditional approach. The construction of TEAM-R was completed in March, 2008. Since then, TEAM-R has been sent to participate many joint field observational experiments around Taiwan. The data collected by TEAM-R have proven to be very useful for scientific studies about Taiwan’s severe rainfall.

中大測候站

除傳統的百葉箱等地面觀測儀器外，並裝置了三十二公尺高測風鐵塔、輻射量測儀器、地面通量測量儀及全自動氣象資料收集系統。每日定時由同學輪流觀測並將資料傳送至中央氣象局，同時藉電腦之處理，將氣象觀測資料製成報表及檔案。
