空氣污染改變了桃園的降雨特徵!!王聖翔老師研究團隊,利用衛星與地面長期資料,解釋氣膠對臺灣北部低層暖雲微物理和降雨的影響。

Chen et al (2021) 發表在大氣頂尖期刊(Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics)透過整合地面及衛星觀測資料,以統計方式量化氣膠對臺灣北部低層暖雲微物理和毛雨的影響。研究結果提供了氣膠間接效應的觀察證據。在受污染的條件下, 雨滴的粒徑分布有所不同,出現雙峰的特徵,也就是小雨滴和大雨滴增多,會降低毛雨的發生頻率。但觀察在輕度降水事件中(≤ 1 mm/h),較高的氣膠濃度驅使雨滴往更小的雨滴粒徑移動,毛毛雨發生的頻率倒增加。 
In Chen (2021), we integrate the satellite and surface observations to statistically quantify aerosol impacts on low-level warm cloud microphysics and drizzle over northern Taiwan. Our result provides observational evidence for aerosol indirect effects. The frequency of drizzle is reduced under polluted conditions. For light precipitation events (≤ 1 mm/h), however, higher aerosol concentrations drive raindrops toward smaller sizes and thus increases the appearance of the drizzle drops.
